Two autumn bombshells over 55 pounds

Kärnten/Austria. Radical team angler Matthias Pirker recently enjoyed a haul of several specimen fish on a 1,000-hectare lake using pre-series samples of Tiger’s Nuts boilies from Radical. The first impressive carp fell to a stiff-rig with a 24 mm Tiger’s Nuts boilie; a proud scaled specimen measuring 105 cm and weighing 25.5 kg (56 lb). Two hours later, Pirker had a double run that sparked chaos but eventually resulted in both fishing being landed safely. The second fish of the session took a 16 mm Tiger’s Nuts boilie, topped with an artificial tiger nut. This carp also broke the 25 kg (55...

Back for the future - Browning re-introduces a legend

Browning's Black Magic series of put-in poles were famous for their incredible strength and durability, but the Korean sourced version of those poles were dropped in 2006 when manufacturing costs became just too high. Apart from its strength, the action provided by its put-in joints made the old BM's the first choice for "to hand" and long-line fishing. Many are still in regular use, and owners often tell us that they would love to travel back in time to buy a new Black Magic II or III to replace their tired old "warhorse". However, Browning doesn't need a time machine to...

Browning "Warhorse" Pole Match 2016

Browning are proud of their "heritage" as a producer of quality poles for more than 30 years.  Annually, a free to enter, unique and special "Warhorse" match is held for anglers who own pre 2005 Browning poles. The 2015 "Browning Warhorse" match was held at Colemans Cottage fishery in Essex on the 10 October. The match attracted more than 40 anglers, who fished with Browning poles that were in some cases 30 years old. The match enjoyed perfect weather and was a big success - especially for Clive Nada who won the match with 72.4.0 of mainly F1 carp using his...

Wild salmon from the kayak

There are days you just have the feeling that something unexpected might happen. This was one of theses days: On a several days kayak trip on a fjord at the west coast of Norway I was trolling for fun small lures for pollack behind the kayak. While paddling within close distance to the rocky coast and enjoying the view on waterfalls and steep cliffs, suddenly my reel brake started screaming. The hectic grip of my rod and hard fight, which started immediately will for always be burned into my memories. The salmon showed himself in several jumps within the first minutes, so I knew from the...

Robin Illner between Canarian beauties

Tostedt. Radical team angler Robin Illner has just returned from a carp expedition in the Canary Islands. Three of the six main islands (Gran Canaria, La Gomera and Tenerife) can be targeted by carp anglers. Gran Canaria has more than 60 lakes, some of which are private and others available to the public. Almost all of the lakes contain carp and black bass. The local anglers also fish these waters, although their focus is more on sea fishing. Over a period of a week, Robin Illner, his friend Jörg Krause and cameraman Peter Corzilius filmed a road-trip movie about the southernmost carp in...
