Rhino Flexi Diver: diving discs redefined!
Tostedt. With the brand new Flexi Diver diving discs from Rhino, anglers can reach trolling depths of over ten meters – even without a downrigger! But what makes these discs the "Flexi" Diver? In contrast to other diving discs on the market, the Flexi Diver can either be used permanently in a rig or variably with a freely definable distance to the bait!
With fixed setup, a swivel is attached to the end of the main line (0.40 to 0.45 mono or 0.25 to 0.35 braid) and this is hooked into the eyelet of the release arm. The leader, which must not be longer than the distance from the rod tip to the reel, is attached to the rear eyelet of the Flexi Diver. All types of trolling lures (spoons, natural bait, wobblers) can be offered in this way. To deploy, just snap your arm and deploy the Flexi Diver as far as you want. After the bite, the Flexi Diver releases into a neutral position and does not interfere with the fight.
With variable assembly, the main line is threaded through the release arm and through the line guide on the Flexi-Diver. This is followed by the leader via the connecting swivel. The Flexi-Diver can now be engaged at a freely selectable distance in front of the bait by clamping the line in a latex tube with the release arm. After the bite and release, the diver slides down to the swivel.
No matter how mounted, the pressure waves and the optical stimuli of the Flexi Diver attract fish and draw their attention to the lure. The diving depth is about one third of the deployed line length. The center of gravity can also be shifted using a rotatable weight (lead-free) attached to the bottom; depending on the turn, the lateral distance to the boat increases.
Frerk Petersen, Managing Director at Zebco Europe and one of the leading trolling experts on the new Flexi Diver: “It's no secret that I'm a big fan of diving discs. They magically pull the fish towards the bait. I have them to thank for a lot of great catches in the past and with the new Flexi Divers there will be many more in the future.”
The Flexi Diver comes in the 9.5cm diameter preferred by trolling pros and comes in eight attractive colors. All recommended assembly components such as swivels, latex tubes and stiff silicone tubes along with detailed instructions are included. The suggested retail price for a Flexi Diver is €19.95 resp. £16.99, they are available now from specialist retailers.
