Tuna XXL of Mallorca!

Tostedt. They actually exist off Mallorca, the bluefin tuna in the weight class over 300 kg! On June 12th, Mar Balear Fishing Adventures took off on an expedition of several days to catch one of these giants. On board the Pilar 2 are Marek Freyer, the guide from Mar Balear Fishing, together with the fishing professionals Stefan Seuss, Michael Koch, Torsten Schneider (all from the Black Cat / Quantum team) and their angler friend Daniel Schiller.

After just 60 minutes, a heavy fish took the 30 centimeter long tunita (a type of mackerel) on the 130 lbs rod and reel combo. It quickly became clear that this extraordinary fish would bring anglers to the limits of stand up fishing. After three hours of tough fighting, in which everything was demanded of the group and the four had to take turns constantly, a bluefin tuna with a length of 2.73 meters and an estimated weight of more than 300 kilograms is released from the hook in the water. The team joined the giant in the water to ensure that he finds his freedom as safely as possible.
