Harbour entrances: this is THE time for large perch!

Tostedt. The perch in our large rivers love to spend the winter in adjacent harbours. There is a time when the fish migrate from their summer lairs in the river to their winter hideaways. This time is normally between late autumn and the onset of winter. On their journey, the prickly predators normally have a brief stopover in the harbour entrances. Those on the water at this time can enjoy some spectacular sport. I have been fortunate to experience this a number of times over the last two weeks. The large specimens in particular can be found in these spots around this time. Whether you use shads, wobblers or dropshot, the perch are often packed closely together. My favourite method is to fish these spots with a DS rig.
Give it a try!
