Browning „Warhorse“ match 2016

Browning held its 2016 "Warhorse" match at the Browning Aston Park fishery in October.  The free-to-enter event gives owners of pre 2005 Browning poles the opportunity to dust of their old "warhorse" poles to win new top-end Browning poles or one of many other tackle prizes.  Weather conditions were harsh on match day and the fish were a bit reluctant to feed, but it actually made for a close match.  A variety of old Browning poles were seen dating back to the 1980's. Browning's famous Black Magic poles were the most represented - testimony to their reputation for strength and durability. Richard Hoskins won the top prize of a 16m Browning Z8 pole using his early 90's Ceramic Accord pole for a catch of carp and ide for 26.14.0. Second placed Brian Searle used a late 90's CC310 for 25.8.0 to win a 14.5 m Xitan Combat, with multiple World Champ Bob Nudd taking 3rd with 17.0.0. Bob used the Champions Choice 808 pole he had used to win one of his 4 world crowns. Bob's 3rd prize of a Black Magic pole was passed down to 4th placed John Beeton. A good time was had by all and everybody went home with a prize. The event will be repeated next October at a Midlands venue and anglers can register for more info by emailing Browning's poles helpline poles@zebco-europe.com or directly warhorse@zebco-europe.com.
