Tuna contest in Italy

The second edition of the BlueFin Tuna Spinning Cup took place in Italy during April 6th and 7th. The event was organized by the Fisherman Club of Fano in the Adriatic Sea, thanks to the involvement of its president Mr. Giulio Zandri. On Saturday 6th all teams participated in the general briefing held in the club house by the organizing committee. Catch and release was the motto for all teams.

Sunday 7th  was the competition day. All teams departed at 7 a.m. to reach their respective fishing spots. With more than 7 hours competition ahead of the teams the first Tuna took only fifteen minutes to strike, this continued for the total duration of the contest with a crazy succession of strikes and releases.
At the end of the show 16 Tunas where caught and released during the contest and another 6 unfortunately broke the line.

The FIN NOR / QUANTUM sponsored team HOT SPOT FISHING ADVENTURE won the match, with great satisfaction for all of us. Captain Diego Bedetti could proudly declare 6 Tuna caught and 1 broken line for a total amount of 240 points. During fights the winning team had to put their tackle to the limit, this was the perfect scenario for the Fin Nor LETHAL 100, Quantum CABO 80 and Fin Nor OFFSHORE 95, which performed flawlessly.

Team STRIKE 1 won second place with Capt. Diotallevi Andrea who scored 90 points, Team Motopesca Alejandro came in third. At the end of the contest it was time to relax. All competing teams were awarded with products generously offered by sponsors including CABO reels from Zebco Europe. After a great buffet it was time for everybody to say good bye until next year’s contest.
