Browning continues to promote angling through ‘Youth Masters 2009’

Zebco Sports Europe Ltd has announced that this year’s ‘Browning Youth Masters 2009’, will attract over 1’000 young anglers. Based upon the success of last year’s event with qualifiers held at 48 fisheries across England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland, the event has already received interest from both anglers and fisheries at this very early stage.

With the existing base of fisheries who staged a qualifier this year, and expansion plans to attract a further 50 fisheries, the strategy is to make the competition accessible for all anglers in all areas of the UK.

All anglers who participated in a qualifier received a prize, and if you were successful in reaching the 100 peg final at ‘Cudmore Fisheries’, you again received an additional prize win or lose. The winner Ryan Barker received tackle to the value of £2,000 and became a Browning Sponsored Angler for one year. Ryan’s sponsorship role will involve a project, which will be based upon encouraging angling participation for non-anglers.

Ryan commented ‘when I heard about the qualifier at Angel of the North Fishery, I was excited about competing. This is the first time that we have had a qualifier in the north-east, and I was not going to miss the opportunity. I attended the latest European product meeting, and felt a valued member of the team.

The fishery Ryan qualified from was ‘Angel of the North’ (Nr Gateshead), the manager Ann Arlington stated ‘the whole event has been run superbly, we have run two qualifiers as the first was a great success. We will be again supporting the competition again next year, we are sure we will have more kids involved’.

The management and organisation of the event was performed by Anthony Connolly (UK Director). ‘I will be honest, the administration side of the competition was more hard work than I expected, but to have the number of fisheries involved was worth all the effort. This has formed a sound base for the event to evolve, and really encouraged angling participation all over the UK in 2009 and beyond’

The final of the Youth Masters 2009 will be held at Moorlands Farm Fishery, Manor Lane, Harlebury, Worcs., on friday, 31st July 2009. For further information on the ‘Browning Youth Masters 2009’ please contact Anthony Connolly on 078342 44678 or customer services on 0808 10 11 254
