Browning Youth Masters Final Produces Young Prodigy
After over 60 qualifiers held across England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland, the final at Cudmore Fisheries on Saturday 30th August produced levels of angling which you would expect from top flight match anglers.
The 78 peg final hosted some of the UK’s best young talent, and was won by Ryan Baxter (116-06) on peg 82 / pool 3. Ryan who qualified from ‘Angel of the North’ fishery, is only 14 years old, and was pitching his skills against anglers older and more experienced. Ryan now will become a ‘Browning Sponsored Angler’ for one year, and will experience all the benefits and responsibilities with being a sponsored angler.
Ryan’s commitment was shown with practicing 3 days prior to the final, were on his best day produced weight of 150-02. Ryan commented ‘I enjoyed the day and was so happy that I won. I am looking forward in becoming a sponsored angler, because fishing is everything to me’
All anglers who reached the final received goody bag provided by Browning, so win or loss everybody went home with something to remember the day. In total Browning invested over £20,000 in this event, as the company are keen to develop and enhance angling for all. ‘Justin Watkins’ who represented Browning commented ‘it was refreshing to see the desire and commitment of all these young anglers, it was a pleasure in being part of something so special.
