Anglers Paradise – Lure Weekend November 2017
The last 3 years has seen the annual Anglers Paradise Lure weekend grow in popularity and success and this year’s weekend over 10-12 November was no different. The format for the weekend is to be a fun social event with an element of competition where anglers no matter their experience can get involved. With 4 teams of 5 anglers and a team captain the task is simple catch as many species of fish as you can during the weekend and have fun doing it. Despite the rock-hard conditions with persistent rain and cold temperatures all anglers had a brilliant time landing fish, sharing their “big one...

Illner tempts giant common carp in testing with Rastafari Boilies
Tostedt. Radical team angler Robin Illner was tasked with testing the new Radical Rastafari Boilies at the start of the year. With its yellow colour, the boilie offers a strong visual attraction and is quickly discovered by fish. Illner devised the boilie with us back in 2016, with a mix including real hemp and Scopex aroma in the form of butyric acid. Other ingredients include high-quality proteins in the form of egg albumen, which is easily digested by fish. Illner has had the opportunity to test and improve the bait on many waters in Germany as well as in Austria, Slovenia and...

Quote from Chippy - Bite Adventures - Lethal Variado
Chippy, the premier shark boat captain in the UK, has been testing out the new Lethal Variado rods on his Fin Nor sponsored charter boat “Bite Adventures”. Here is what he had to say. “We got a quick chance with the new 6-12 lb class Lethal Variado yesterday on some sharks. You have now got the perfect boat rod. Awesome rod guys.” Fulsome praise from Chippy for our new rods featuring solid carbon technology – as we say “Indestructible. Reinvented” Being afloat more than 200 days a year, and this summer boating more than 1500 sharks you can imagine how much abuse the Fin Nor products...

Monster catfish defeated at a water temperature of 8 degrees
Tostedt. At the beginning of March, angling guide and Black Cat brand manager Stefan Seuß headed to the Po along with tour guests Ludwig and Max Heller. Spring is a particularly interesting time of year on Italy’s longest river. The period when the water temperatures are slowly climbing towards 10 degrees is renowned for monster catfish activity. At this time, Stefan Seuß likes to use small sub floats (10-gram Black Cat underwater float), which he mounts directly behind the baitfish on the leader. This causes the bait to hover just off the bottom, precisely where most of the prey of catfish...

Monster catfish tamed from a kayak
Tostedt. Kayak fishing is a particularly natural form of angling - silent and at one with the surface of the water. It is scarcely possible to get closer to the fish. Picture yourself, then, fighting a giant catfish from a kayak and you might imagine what an unsteady experience this can be.At the beginning of March, Quantum team angler Daniel Katzoreck arranged with his friend Uwe Roth to target catfish on a backwater. With the Rhine at high tide, the pair sought out a tributary with a steady current. The objective was to target the catfish in open water. This means impatiently watching the...
