World novelty: first trolling reel with lever drag AND line counter!

In the early years of trolling for sea trout and salmon, in Europe it was the early 1990s, lever drag reels were the ultimate when it came to optimal drag performance. With such a drag, even super-sized predators can be played confidently.

The dilemma for the trolling professionals over time, however, was that reels with a line counter made it easier to play with many techniques. E.g. when measuring the line length when fishing with divers, or when setting up the side with inline boards or side planners. It impresses with some incomparable features: The engineers have developed a unique, new trolling braking curve with an even drag pressure curve between free spool and maximum - unlike all conventional lever drag reels. The otherwise usual “strike” position was deliberately omitted, instead the Wizard 420 LCLD uses the largest possible range over the entire pivoting range of the brake lever and thus enables extremely precise adjustment of the drag pressure.

The ultra-gentle and at the same time indestructible carbon drag discs, which are greased with "Cal’s Grease" - a special grease that is even used in big game fishing - also ensure that the brakes are optimally stable.
